Overview of NRA Basic & Instructor Classes
Since 1871, a major objective of the National Rifle Association of America has been the training of people of good repute in
the safe handling and proper use of firearms. Today, as the nation's premier firearm training organization, the NRA continues
to introduce thousands of individuals annually to the basics of safe, enjoyable shooting through the NRA Basic Firearm
The NRA's tradition of shooting education is over 137 years old, but the training methodologies used in NRA courses are
regularly updated to reflect the latest instructional techniques and ensure the presentation of educationally sound, quality
firearm training that is simple, effective, and enjoyable. The administrative policies governing the conduct of NRA training
courses are also periodically revised to help maintain the program's nationally recognized training standards, as well as to
ensure that NRA firearm training is available to every law-abiding individual who wishes to receive it.
NRA courses are not available to any individual who has been convicted of a crime of violence, or who is prohibited by federal,
state, or local law from possessing firearms.
No live ammunition is to be brought into the classroom. Some classes do not allow firearms to be brought into our classroom.

Notice from the NRA: NRA cannot provide any assistance in training foreign persons due to conflicting information from the U.S. Government regarding regulations pertinent to foreign persons and arms training. NRA cannot process any requests for assistance in training foreign persons. In view of the above, we regret to inform you that NRA cannot renew NRA firearm trainer credentials for any foreign national.

NOTE: If you are hesitating to sign up for a class because of the current lack of ammunition on the market, we have the following
calibers available for your class: .22, .38 Special, 9 mm, .40, .45, and 20 and 12 gauge shotgun shells.
We will charge you whatever it cost us to make or buy.
(Glock users: You will need to shoot copper-clad rather than cast bullets unless you have a special after-market barrel.)
